Revolutionary War Project

You will do this with a partner or on your own, both in school and at home, so watch homework assignments for deadlines and due dates that will help you to keep on track with research and note taking.
You have selected your topic. Research will be done in Social Studies class, and some writing may be done in ELA if your teacher approves.

Revolutionary War Project

Research your topic and write a report.

Take notes as you read and remember to cite your sources
KEEP TRACK OF YOUR SOURCES AS YOU USE THEM

  • Use at least one internet source
  • Use at least one print source: encyclopedia, nonfiction book, magazine article
    • use at least one primary source
It helps when organizing your information to remember these questions:    Who, What, Where,  When,  Why,  How

Make a poster or Google slide show
I will provide poster paper if that is your choice
  • between 5 - 10 slides
  • a title slide with your name, title of presentation and date
  • relevant images with citations
  • well-written, engaging text to support images
  • a link to more information on your topic
  • a “Works Cited” slide

Oral Presentation

Things to Remember:

  • PRACTICE so you will be confident that you know the material you are sharing
  • make eye contact with your audience
  • speak slowly, clearly and loud enough to be heard
  • use and explain any special vocabulary you have learned
  • use your Google Presentation to help make your points
  • relax: we are all learning from each other

DO NOT READ YOUR REPORT;

TALK TO YOUR AUDIENCE ABOUT YOUR TOPIC!
