Online Resources for Parents

Throughout the year, your child will have occasion to access online resources that either accompany or supplement in-class instruction. In some instances, like math, your child can view an electronic version of the textbook and complete math homework remotely. In other cases, such as grammar, textbook lessons offer online games and activities that reinforce what your child is learning in school or help prepare him/her for tests and quizzes. Please note that each one requires its own log in!

Below is a list of all the online resources we use.

We encourage you to keep this information available at home so you and your child know how to access and use these resources.

Math:

1. enVisionmath2.0 Workbook
An electronic version of our math workbook can be accessed from the web site www.pearsonrealize.com.

  • Your child can log in with the username “bps” followed by his/her six-digit LASID ID#.
  • Don’t worry, your child knows what this is! (Example: bps123456)
  • password: burlington1
  • On the homepage, select “enVisionmath2.0 Common Core Grade 5 2016” under “Programs.”

2. ST Math
With ST Math, students play computer games designed to teach math. They can play the games at home on devices with Internet access. I may assign ST Math games for homework. Please make sure only the child on the account plays the games. Your child accesses ST Math the same way he or she does at school.

  • Go to web.stmath.com and click on JiJi the penguin OR
  • Download the app by searching for "ST Math" on iTunes (iPad); Google Play (Android); or Amazon (Kindle Fire)
  • Your child should be able to take it from there!

English Language Arts:

Grammar
Regular in-class writing is supplemented by grammar lessons from the workbook Grammar Workshop. To access this resource, go to www.sadlierconnect.com/gw/grammarworkshop.com.
Then, follow these steps:

  • Choose your book (blue or orange; your child will know which one)
  • Select the unit we are working on and practice, work on test-taking strategies, or play some games

Seesaw App:
Seesaw is an app that allows you to see and hear your child's work, and receive announcements from teachers. It stores work in a digital portfolio, and even provides you a way to comment on your child's work. Your child either has brought or will bring you a handout which has a unique QR code.
